And that line is no joke because the PGA tour stops by Hilton Head every April for the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament.
Since its inaugural round in 1969, the RBC Heritage has served as South Carolina’s only PGA-level tournament. Whether you’re taking a simple stroll at golden hour or heading out on the water by kayak or paddle board, there’s plenty of fun to be had on any of Hilton Head’s sandy beaches in the spring.
However, although the soothing sand and water activities certainly make for some fun in the sun, they’re just one part of what makes these beaches special. Another fantastic element to Hilton Head’s beaches is that loggerhead sea turtles begin nesting on them in late spring. Lucky visitors can witness the 400-pound mother turtles scooting up onto the sand at night to lay upwards of 120 eggs. Then, 50-60 days later, the baby sea turtles hatch and emerge to make their sprint to the water.

3. Exciting Events & Festivals

One of the more popular annual spring events is the Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival, which takes place over a week at the end of every March.
